Path of Exile Item Upgrades

item upgrader upgrades are a common and important way to improve the performance of numerous items in Path of Exile. They can be a good source of damage and more AD or even more attaches.

Rare-grade equipment is usually superior to modernized Common or Magic equipment due to their high demands.

Armor

Armor upgrades can be applied to both weapon and armor items. They boost the performance of the item they are attached to. Armor upgrades are available in the world of the game and are available from Blacksmiths on bonfires. Alternatively, they can also be salvaged from items with upgrade components in them with a professional or higher salvage kit.

The level of an armor's or weapon's upgrade determines the amount of damage it is able to absorb. The ability to absorb damage of an item upgrade of armor will increase when it is upgraded to the maximum upgrade level. However, it's important to note that this will also increase its weight, which will cause it to weigh more than it was before.

There are many different kinds of armor upgrades that are available in the game. Each one has a distinct effect. Certain upgrades give armor an extra amount of health points while others make it stronger and lighter. The name of the armor upgrade will tell you the kind of upgrade an item can be given, as illustrated below.

Some upgrades also feature magic or a hybrid of technology and magic which is indicated by an "Magic" or "Hybrid" entry in the table below. Certain upgrades require charges in order to be used. These are indicated as "Charges" entries in the table. The charges associated with these upgrades are updated daily or never expire, according to the upgrade.

Iron Ore is the cheapest method to improve your armor. You can locate it by exploring and looting small loot chests. Titanium is more expensive however, it is available at the smelters of Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Certain upgrades, such as the Reforge and the Hot Potato Books, can only be applied to high-level armor pieces. These upgrades can provide a significant boost to stats and are worth the investment, particularly for one-handed weapons.

The process of upgrading an armor piece to the highest upgrade level will greatly boost its defense but the wearer must be aware that increasing its weight will dramatically reduce its speed and agility. Therefore, it is generally not recommended to upgrade most armor pieces above +9, since the defensive boost gained is usually not worth the weight and power costs of the upgrades required.

Weapons

Weapon upgrades give players the ability to improve certain aspects of their weapon. Upgrades can increase the accuracy of a rifle or the damage that shotgun shells cause. Certain firearms have upgrades to improve their inherent characteristics. They include Frictionless Materials (improves stability and reduces the risk of the risk of overheating) and Kinetic Coils (increases projectile acceleration for more damage).

The majority of upgrades to weapons require a whetblade, one of three Power Dices and a different amount of Minerals and Erons. These can be obtained by completing Side Quests or by killing a certain number of bosses and monsters.

Upgrading a Weapon, Equipment Set piece, or Whetblade requires visiting the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine and paying her an upgrade cost of a certain number of Bars. The higher the upgrade level, the higher the number of bars required to complete it. If you have multiple upgrade materials the cost of upgrading will be lower.

In Chapter 2: Season 5 the way you upgrade weapon and equipment sets has changed a bit. Before, you could seek out an Upgrade Bench and pay for a specific number of Bars to upgrade your equipment or weapon to a higher level of rarity. You could do this until the weapon or equipment reached its maximum upgrade level at which point the upgrades would reset.

It's possible, but it depends heavily on RNG. Instead, you're much better off going to stores and buying equipment with low upgrade levels, but excellent base scores and stat distributions. These items will have a better chance of giving you the highest tier advantages and benefits.

To increase their level quicker, players usually prioritize upgrading their weapons. In addition players, they should also consider upgrading the weapons they use with their squadmates to make them more powerful and effective. For instance, Shepard should consider upgrading the M92F to unlock the Beretta M93R to make it more useful when accompanied by experts in biotics like Grunt and Tali.

Jewels

Jewels can be used to improve the stats of a character or to provide additional effects in weapons and armor. They can be created through a process called jewelry crafting, which is where you combine a gem with various chemicals at a table. The higher the level of the jewel, the better its secondary effect. These reagents can be obtained from Treasure Goblins and World Bosses all over the world, or through finding Legendary Gear. You can also purchase them from The Jeweler in exchange for Scattered Prisms and gold.

The Jeweler can improve the quality of a gem in stages ranging from Crude up to Royal. The boosts to stats will differ depending on the level the jewel is at when it's slotted into jewelry, weapons, or other gear.

The Jeweler can create all tiers of gems, apart from the rare and legendary ones that you must be at certain levels to gain. Jewels can be replaced with another jewel without damaging the original. However you can only swap out one jewel in a piece of equipment once.

It is normal to use more jewels to enhance the appearance of. The jewels also improve performance and make an outer layer that is more durable than steel, so that the repeated friction caused by pivots does not cause damage to the movement.

A Glyphmaster can provide glyphs that can enhance the look of your weapons and shields. These are a small perk and are able to be swapped easily but aren't guaranteed to drop as loot. Glyphs are like jewelry and can be upgraded at the Jeweler to exchange Scattered Crystals and gold. Glyphs can also be removed and returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components such as aegis or traits cannot be exchanged and can only be found with an Upgrade extractor, or salvaging with Black Lion Salvage Kit, or Ascended Salvage.

Trinkets

Trinkets are items of equipment that offer an array of small, but beneficial benefits to your hero. You can find them in the starting area as loot or as personal story rewards. They can also be obtained from vendors and by completing road interaction. They may also be crafted by jewelers, and found or purchased at the Trading Post.

The first trinket a player can unlock is the cloak. It provides a tiny but beneficial boost in movement speed and the ability to evade. The player can then collect necklaces, rings, and amulets in a similar manner as they did with weapons and armor. Each piece of gear comes with one upgrade slot that accepts either a universal or a jewel upgrade item. Universal upgrades are smaller and are able to be used on any equipment. Jewels are not upgradeable or replaced and are only compatible with certain trinkets.

These trinkets provide additional buffs and abilities that are active even when the hero isn't engaged in combat. This allows the hero to be more efficient when they are not active. It can also make up for the absence of strong slot in the talent tree or team which would normally be filled by the hero's optimal stats.

In general trinket upgrades should be prioritized over BiS (Best item upgrade in Slot) items that you aren't likely to replace soon. Next, any items with desirable stats that are less significant than the iLevel for the item upgrader that is to be upgraded. This is especially true when you want to upgrade multiple statistics on an Item Upgrade. It's more beneficial to upgrade a single important stat rather than two suboptimal ones.

Jungle players usually upgrade their yellow trinkets to a red one prior to the beginning of the game. Top and mid players however, will choose either a pink or green ward, based on the game's matchup. These choices will have a major impact on the hero's abilities to control maps.

In addition to the items listed above, players will find other trinkets in the form of rewards and trophies throughout the game. They can be obtained through completing certain milestones within the story. For example, completing a chapter’s main quest or beating a boss. These achievements can be seen by selecting the appropriate achievement from the reward tab of the hero menu.
