top rated robot Vacuum Rated Robot Vacuums

A robot vacuum will keep your floors tidy enough to reduce the frequency of hoovering manually. Choose a robot cleaner commercial vacuum that is well-trained in navigation, is able to clean stairs and corners and has a large bin that needs to be emptied periodically.

There are models that mop and charge themselves, which is a feature essential for families with pets or children. The top performers in our tests have decent obstacle avoidance.

1. iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO

The i3+ EVO and its i3 EVO sibling, the i3 EVO, are identical robots, but they differ in that the i3+ has self-emptying features. That makes the i3+ an excellent option for those who want an automated, hands-free cleaning experience, but don't mind manually emptying their robot's dustbin when it is full.

Both robots excel at picking up surface debris on hard floors and carpets, and they're excellent in maneuvering around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates smart maps of your home that help the i3+ EVO navigate and clean in a manner that maximizes efficiency. The i3+ doesn't have obstacle avoidance capabilities like the i7+ or any other top-rated robots we have tested. It may get stuck on power cords or socks and have trouble moving between different surfaces, like carpet and hardwood.

iRobot recommends clearing areas in which the i3+ EVO will vacuum before you use it, including clearing out any toys or clutter it may encounter. It's also recommended to keep the dust bin and filter clean so they do not become blocked by dirt. If the i3+ EVO's internal bin is full or its battery is depleted, it returns to its docking station and automatically emptying its trash into the station's external dustbin, and then continues cleaning the area where it left off. The battery's lifespan is around an hour-and-a-half of continuous use. It takes about three hours to fully charge.

2. Roomba by iRobot

The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the most powerful model of the flagship line from iRobot, and it is equipped with the most recent features. It is self-charging and self-navigating, but the most significant feature is its best auto vacuum-emptying bin. This removes the need for routine maintenance.

The Roomba I7+ can better map rooms with Imprint Smart Mapping. It also integrates with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning jobs and control your robot with voice or through the app.

The i7+ is more efficient and more agile in our tests than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also picked up large pet hair pieces from any surface including carpeting. Its biggest advantage over the eufy, though it self-empties its dust bin that eliminates a major source of maintenance and lowers recurring costs.

We were also awestruck by the i7+’s compatibility with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We used these services to instruct the robot to start, stop, or pause cleaning sessions and also to move around the room and to vacuum a particular area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ with these services. After being connected, to speak commands to the i7+ for example "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options to manage the i7+'s preferences and monitoring its performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

In a world filled with vacuums with cords that look like minivans or buses, this tiny Dyson model is an automobile. It has the power and features to replace a stand-up automatic vacuum cleaner for the majority of households and can fit perfectly next to the coffee table or a bookshelf where you can move it around like a magic device.

The V10 is powered with seven cells of energy-dense Lithium-ion batteries that produces power that is not fading for 60 minutes. Its advanced whole-machine filtration system traps allergens and releases cleaner air back into your home. The cleaning head is specially designed to drive stiff nylon bristles deep into carpet to suck up large particles and fine dust. It has three suction modes to suit the task at hand. It is able to quickly change from floor vacuum to handheld vacuum and vice versa.

This model also has docks that charge to 100% in around 3.5 hours and offers an easy access to two attachments and an Wand clip. This is a huge improvement over earlier Dysons that require a lengthy charge and are difficult to store.

The V10's biggest drawback is its sluggish run time. The claims of its marketing that it has up to 60 minutes of run time are a bit misleading as CR's tests show. This is a typical and not a remarkable run time for an electric cordless vacuum powered by batteries. That's still enough run time to get rid of the majority of an average-sized house, but not quite long enough to clean every spot (though the second time around usually can be effective). This model has its own advantages however: it's lighter and more maneuverable than earlier Dysons cordless models, and its vacuuming ability is noticeable superior for carpet floors with low pile.

4. iRobot Roomba 694

The 694 is a standard robot vacuum that's an excellent choice for those who don't have a lot of money to invest in the latest model of robot. It's capable of sucking up a variety of kinds of debris in our tests, and it often goes over the same areas multiple times to give a thorough clean. The flat front of the unit allows it reach into corners and along the walls' edges which is a nice addition.

Its smart navigation system uses iAdapt technology to steer clear of obstacles and guide you through your home. However, it lacks the ability to map that is found in more advanced models, like our top picks, i3+EVO and J7+ Series. It is prone to getting stuck on phone cords or low furniture and will often run out of power before returning to its original location.

The Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum is superior to the Roomba 694 in many ways, as it has fewer parts that require regular maintenance and is equipped with an allergen-trapping HEPA filter, incurs lower costs for recurring maintenance, has more advanced automation capabilities and is better at moving itself. It also has a larger dustbin and charges quicker.

The eufy RoboVac X8 has a superior battery life than the Roomba. It also comes with physical boundaries strips and can be controlled using the voice assistant on your smartphone. It also feels more sturdy and has a stronger motor, and performs notably better on bare floors and carpets with a low pile, as well as offering a wider range of automation options.

5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+

Samsung is a household name in home electronics. It's not surprising that they are also among the top producers of robot vacuums and mop. Jet Bot AI+ has a cutting-edge onboard technology to navigate and avoid obstacles.

The app offers a variety of options to personalize your robotic cleaner, including virtual barriers, mopping water levels and behavior adjustments docking frequency settings and much more. The app is simple to learn and use similar to other Samsung devices.

In our testing our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ excelled on hard floors, and also handled dog hair (on carpet) very well, picking up 86 percent of it. However, it didn't do particularly well at avoiding higher-up objects like cords or socks which was disappointing. It's also more expensive than the other models we tried, which might be a problem for some buyers.

The app lets you access the onboard camera of the smart vacuum. You can also create live streaming from the robot's cleaning zone. This feature allows you to check in on your pets or children while you are away. The dustbin and filter can be washed to make cleanup quick and easy. The Jet Bot AI+ also comes with a clean station that's self-emptying and helps keep the robot's dustbin clean and optimizes suction power for each cleaning run.

6. Black & Decker Robot Vacuum

In contrast to other robotic vacuums which are designed for both hard floors and carpets, Black and Decker robots are specifically designed for hard floors. The robots come with an extra wide cleaning path, as well as dust bins that are 2X bigger than the competitors. This lets them clean the area for longer. They also have two side sweepers for cleaning around corners and edges. The POWERSERIES model includes AutoSense which adjusts the power level depending on whether it's collecting dirt on the surface or embedded dirt. The vacuum also has an app that allows you to view an interactive map, control functions, and create schedules. You can also monitor the vacuum's status and send it to the dock for charging with the click of a button. The app allows you to modify the LEDs on the top of the vacuum so that you can discern where it is focusing or if it has gotten stuck.

The application also allows you to manually steer the robot should you need to. For instance my living room rug has a darkly colored border that can cause confusion for other robots I've tried. However the HRV 425BL continued to move across the border, but it didn't register it as a cliff. The ability to program a daily cleaning schedule for each week is a time-saving advantage.
