The best robot vacuum cleaner and mop Robot Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.
He evaluates and tests cleaning appliances, focusing on robot vacuums and mopping combos. These multitaskers are an excellent option for those who wish to take mopping off their to-do list. Some of them have excellent mapping capabilities and obstacles avoidance. Some wash and refill mopping pads for a hands-free clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
If you're looking to buy a robot vacuum cleaners uk vacuum that can also mop, this is the model to look for. It's smaller than the other options on this list which makes it easier to maneuver through tight corners and under furniture. It uses a 220 degree lidar which, when paired with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it some of the most effective navigation and object avoidance that I've ever seen in a robotic vacuum. It has a hefty 4600mAh battery which lasts up to 170-minutes, if mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it can run longer in turbo). It will even return to its dock to replenish its battery during the cleaning.
It's very efficient and does a great job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted areas extremely quickly, and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room, and hallways in one go. The suction motor's 8,000pa will quickly pick up dirt, droppings and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it detects rugs and the double side brushes help to clean debris from corners.
The mopping efficiency, while still impressive, is not as impressive. The mop rotates quickly and utilizes 2.2lbs to scrub dirt and stains. I've noticed that the front arm sticks out a little more than other robots. This is helpful when getting into difficult corners or along baseboards. Those same front arms can be used to sweep larger pieces of debris, such as broken toys and books.
Another great feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the most quiet robot vacuums that mop (learn more) vacuums and mops I've ever tried. It doesn't make as loud of a sound while vacuuming or mopping and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The only drawback is that the S1 Pro must use a specific cleaning solution to perform its mopping function and is sold separately from the vacuum. It is easy to install and performs well. However when you purchase this vacuum solely for mopping it is important to be aware of this.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo stands apart from most robot vacuums that mops in its class. It is a powerful machine for cleaning with a wide range of features.
The device is equipped with an extremely powerful and impressive cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensors and an RGB camera to map the house and identify furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean intelligently and effectively. This will ensure a thorough and consistent clean and is also rapid.
In terms of mopping, Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads can reach many different surfaces. This includes corners, baseboards and other difficult to reach spots. The side brush can be stretched to reach the floor near to the walls or other fixtures. The mop pads can also be washable and can be dried to reduce odors and prevent buildup.
Another notable feature is the customization options that are available through apps. The Q Revo lets you adjust the amount of suction, and choose between a back-andforth or more randomized pattern. You can also select the number of passes, which will determine how quickly it can move around your home. You can even choose to turn off the side brush to prevent damaging carpets and rugs.
The device has a expensive price tag, but it has a variety of innovative features. However, it's important to remember that it carries periodic costs in the form of mopping equipment and maintenance. For example the brushroll needs to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to twelve months. The filter is recommended to be cleaned after 150 hours, and mop pads must be changed every three months.
This robotic vacuum cleaner has a high rating on Amazon and includes a broad variety of physical automation features. This includes a power button that doubles as a general 'Clean' button and a 'Home button that sends it back to its base station once it has completed its cleaning session. It also comes with a multi-functional dock that automatically empties the dustbin, refills its water tank to mop and washes and dry its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
The Shark Matrix Plus will be an ideal option for busy professionals or anyone who wants to keep their home tidy without spending too much time on chores. It's a top-performing device, smart navigation, and a long battery life that makes it simple to keep your home tidy with minimal effort.
The Matrix Plus robot vacuum cleaners uk vacuum is a 2-in-1 mop and vacuum. It is able to perform mopping and vacuuming. The robot has two modules: a dry bin and water reservoir and a separate mopping module with a microfiber pad that snaps into and out of the way. It's not the most modern thing to have separate modules for vacuuming and mopping but it does mean that you don't need to worry about changing the bags for disposables or refilling the tank with water.
The Matrix Plus performed well at both vacuuming as well as mopping. Its best feature was its accurate floorplan, which it uses to draw the path to follow when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate effortlessly around furniture, rugs and other obstacles. The app allows you to create 'No-Go Zones' and virtual barriers that prevent certain areas from being cleaned by mop.
We also noticed that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well at picking up hair from pets. It was able to capture the majority of hair our cats shed, and even was able to get into the nooks and crannies of our stairs which other robots struggled. It was fairly silent and also had a few nice jingles that let you know when it was beginning or completing its task.
Its biggest drawbacks were its lack of sophistication and the requirement to switch out the modules when switching between mopping and vacuuming. The app can't save multiple maps. This can be an issue if your home has several floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a great choice for those who want a device that can vacuum and mop.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni is the most expensive robotic vacuum that is able to mop in our review, but it also has distinct features that are worth taking into consideration. The X1 Omni is most well-known for its huge dock that serves as an charging base for the robot, a cleaning sink and two 4-liter water tanks. It also houses a 2.5-liter dustbin and an 2.5 liter dust bin.
The base comes with a couple of buttons for control that allow you to manually start cleaning tasks and then recall the robot or run the dock’s auto-emptying procedure. Press two of the buttons to switch on a child lock, which is a nice feature for parents who are worried about children playing with the vacuum.
The Omni Omni, like other robotic vacuums, uses its camera to spot furniture and obstacles in its path. It will steer clear of them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system will map your home 10 times faster than standard laser detection systems and is four times more accurate in recognizing objects.
Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni will sometimes get so entangled with obstacles, like a power cord draped across a rug that it becomes stuck and ceases to function until you manually free it. While this was rare, it was a frustrating experience when it happened, especially since the X1 Omni doesn't have a "stuck" status alert on its app.
The X1 Omni cannot automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming mode during the cleaning process. You'll have to manually switch between the two, which isn't a big deal aside from the fact that mopping pads aren't washed and dried between uses which could lead to mildew or mold.
The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame), who created its sleek modern, contemporary base and mopping pad. It's a major departure from the utilitarian, black bases of competitors like Roborock and iRobot, and a welcome view in a market which is dominated by clunky boxes and clunky models.
