The Thief class is fairly self-explanatory.

Thieves steal, for different reasons, and are very good at it.

The easiest way I know of to explain the classes in an effective and useful way is to split the 5 classes up into three groups;

Those more geared towards wisdom damage, those for strength damage, and theft.

Divided in this way, the 5 base classes form a sort of scale presented as such:

Mage

Archer

Thief

Acolyte

Swordsman


The first grouping as I mentioned is classes which are more apt towards being wisdom based classes. Both classes have strength based moves, but they do very limited damage in comparison to the strength based moves of the other classes.

This is one of the best base classes if built right, but also one of the hardest to start with.

Since the strength based potential of this character is so limited, it is based to stick to a purely wisdom based character and forget about the strength based stat altogether.

Like the Mage, the Archer is very limited in its ability to use its strength based skills to much effect, but does have the move Oblivion Shot which is almost as good as the Mage Imperium in terms of wisdom damage.

Unlike the Mage however, the Archer's strength based skills are slightly better, so an Archer can still get away with training strength a little bit until they can get Oblivion shot and switch to wisdom training.

The first is the "Wisdom Based Mixed Class".

These characters usually combine the best moves from the Wisdom fueled classes like Mage Imperium and Focus Magic, with Net from Thieves and/or Pray to the Gods from Acolytes.

The purpose is to create the best wisdom damage combos one can from the CofW skills, although many players that fall into this class eventually move up to stronger wisdom based attack skills like Black Magic, Triangulum, etc.
